Inspect the Compressor Housing

Use a flashlight to thoroughly inspect the interior walls of the housing for debris or foreign objects that could severely damage the compressor wheel if left unaddressed.

Inspect the Turbine Housing

Thoroughly inspect the inner walls of the turbine housing. Use a flashlight to check for any debris or foreign objects that could obstruct the turbine wheel's function. Note that the presence of oil or soot within the turbine housing may indicate a seal leak or improper combustion, in which case a professional inspection is recommended.

Inspect the Blades

The blades are critical components of a turbo and must remain in good condition for optimal performance. Check for chips or bends on the blades since they could reduce the turbocharger’s boost. Examine the blades carefully using a flashlight for any indications of rubbing or scraping against the housing, as this may suggest a severe alignment issue that requires immediate attention.
